NIIM welcomes the recent announcement by the Federal Government that seven natural therapies can be reinstated for private health insurance rebates. They are:
– Naturopathy
– Western Herbal Medicine
– Yoga
– Pilates
– Tai Chi
– Shiatsu
– Alexander Technique
Legislation still needs to pass through Parliament before any changes can take effect. Once passed, individual health insurers will determine whether to offer cover. However, the government has expressed its commitment to working with the sector to ensure timely re-inclusion, which is great news for patients of these services.
