Counsellor
When living with a health condition the yearning to be truly seen and heard, to process the uncomfortable and confronting emotions that can arise, and to discover a safe place both within ourselves and with others, emerges. My role is to be with you, support you, hear you and assist you to tenderly, consciously and courageously work with your emotions. I will help you connect to the calmer place within yourself and I can provide you with some tools to navigate the way.
We know that the mind has a measurable effect on our health. I can assist you to befriend and calm your mind.
I am an experienced counsellor having worked with people with chronic health conditions for over twenty-five years. I’m a member of the Australian Counselling Association. I am also a Naturopath, Wellness Coach and Engineer. I have taught mindfulness and health enhancement modules at Monash University, Department of Medicine, for twenty years, I ran a Naturopathic clinic for over ten years and was the founding director of one of Australia’s leading Corporate Wellness organisations.
My work is person-centred and emotion-focused. I incorporate approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Focusing, and Mindfulness, among others.
If you would like to have a conversation with me before booking you are invited to make a 10-minute telephone consultation at reception to discuss your needs and how we might work together. Currently I am available at NIIM on Tuesdays in person and telehealth by arrangement.
